Why I am a bad blogger

Laright, I will admit to being a horribly negligent blogger. When i started this blog, I had lots of time on my hands- time which has since all but evaporated.
Aside from working full time I am in the midst of completing two courses at Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary, Greek Language Tools and Systematic Theology 1.
I hope to contribute something usefull to this page soon.

Who am I?

Perhaps the name Athanasius of Chilliwack is a bit of a mouthful. Let me explain. I just finished wiriting a paper for my History of Christianity course about the impact of Constantine on the church, and I can to greatly admire this little guy from the city of Alexandria called Athanasius. in the fourth century when the church found itself being led by the nose by the "Christian" emperor, this little man known to his enemies as "the little black dwarf from Alexandria", seemed to be one of the only churchmen who saw Constantine for what he was. He was arguably the staunchest opposition to the Arian heresy, and continued to oppose it even when the emperor changed his mind and began to oppose Nicene (orthodox) Christianity.
Athanasius preached the truth in season and out of season, and I hope that my ministry will follow his model, and the model of Jeremiah, Ezekiel, John the Bapist and every preacher that had the courage and conviction to speak the truth come whatever.

Aside from that, I really like Roman and Greek names. Ask my wife- I will not likely be allowed to name our children. I was fortunate enough to have a hand in naming the dog (kali). I like the name Athanasius (pronounced A-tha-NAY-shus), so I'm gonna use it.

This is my first blog, and I'm not sure if anyone will read it, but in the spirit of my friends Armchairthologian and Theophorus, I have stuff to say from time to time, so why not.
